Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Elon Musk recently connected over a phone call where they discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation.

The conversation revisited some of the points they had touched upon during their earlier meeting in Washington, D.C., emphasizing the shared vision of leveraging cutting-edge technology to accelerate digital transformation and boost economic growth in India.

The dialogue comes at a time when Musk’s companies, notably Tesla and Starlink, are actively exploring opportunities to expand their presence in the Indian market.

PM Modi posted on X saying —
Spoke to @elonmusk and talked about various issues, including the topics we covered during our meeting in Washington DC earlier this year. We discussed the immense potential for collaboration in the areas of technology and innovation. India remains committed to advancing our partnerships with the US in these domains.

"It was an honor to speak with PM Modi. I am looking forward to visiting India later this year!," Musk posted on X in a response to Modi’s post.

Tesla is reportedly in discussions with Indian officials about the possibility of setting up a local factory, while Starlink—through its parent company SpaceX—is eyeing an expansion of its satellite internet services and has already partnered with Indian telcos airtel and Jio.
