Tesla is preparing to launch its two electric cars in India. For this, the company has filed homologation applications for Model Y and Model 3.

According to media reports, Elon Musk promoted Tesla is in final stage for entering the Indian market by filing homologation applications for two of its electric car models, the Model 3 and Model Y. Homologation is one of the final steps before launching a new car in India.

Homologation is a certification process that ensures vehicles meet Indian standards for safety, emissions, and roadworthiness. This move is part of Tesla's broader plan to establish a presence in India, with initial imports planned before considering local manufacturing.

In India, the responsibility of homologation of vehicles lies with the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).
