Infosys Foundation Grants ₹ 27 Crore to Ashoka University, Sonepat for Building Advanced Chemical Biology Lab Augmentating Scientific Research

The Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of Infosys, has partnered with Ashoka University, Sonepat, Haryana to enhance scientific research. The two have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support the university's Chemical Biology Lab.

The foundation has committed a grant of INR 27 crore to upgrade the lab into a world-class facility.

This initiative will provide undergraduate students at Ashoka University with access to advanced equipment like Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR), Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-ray Analysis (SEM-EDAX), High-Resolution Transmission Electron Microscopy (HRTEM), Imaging Mass Cytometry, and Spatial Nucleic Acid Hybridization System. The goal is to enhance education and research opportunities, enabling students to excel in science and research.

The Advanced Chemical Biology Lab will also host periodic courses, conferences, and workshops to foster awareness and opportunities within the Indian science community. It aims to facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration among departments and institutions, thereby elevating Ashoka University's national and international visibility as a premier destination for science education and research.
