Accenture Launches Generative-AI Platform for Enterprises; To Invest $3 Bn in Data/AI; Double Its AI Workforce to 80,000

Global IT Services & Consulting firm Accenture has announced a $3 billion investment over three years in its Data & AI practice, as well as a new generative AI based tool for enterprises, to help clients across all industries rapidly and responsibly advance and use AI to achieve greater growth, efficiency and resilience.

In a number of announcements, Accenture said that it will double the number of its employees to 80,000 working in the cutting-edge technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) arena.

In this week, Indian IT services company HCLTech and Microsoft also announced the expansion of their strategic partnership to help enterprises harness generative AI and develop joint solutions to enable businesses.

Accenture will make range of investments to help companies develop the new strategies, operating models, business cases and digital core architecture they will need to capitalize on AI innovation and major of these include —

1. New AI Navigator for Enterprise –

Accenture's new generative AI-based platform that will help clients define business cases, make decisions, navigate AI journeys, choose architectures and understand algorithms and models to drive value responsibly. The new enterprises tool is built on Accenture’s own efforts. No other information is available as of yet though it will be expected to reveal by next week or so. 

2. Accelerators for data and AI readiness –

Accenture will create accelerators for data and AI readiness across 19 distinct industries as well as pre-built industry and functional models that take advantage of new generative AI capabilities.

3. Center for Advanced AI

To advance uses of generative AI, Accenture's Center for Advanced AI is dedicated to maximizing the value of this technology across clients and within Accenture. This includes extensive R&D and investments to reimagine service delivery using generative and other emerging AI capabilities.

Accenture claims to have 1,450 patents and pending patent applications worldwide and hundreds of client solutions at scale, ranging from marketing to retail and security to manufacturing.

Besides Accenture, tech giants Google, Microsoft and Apple have also adopted AI-centric approach for future, especially Generative AI.
