Technion– Israel Institute of Technology announces the 12th edition of the Robo Traffic Competition conducted by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The competition will be held virtually between March 6 – 10, 2022.

Technion's Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is a global leader in the research and development of robotics, with world renowned expertise in theoretical and practical implementations of robotic devices in various industries. The faculty believes that pre-university educational activities are crucial for stimulating interest in the next generation of students and therefore has established the Leumi Robotics Center (LRC). LRC will be hosting and providing necessary assistance to students entering this competition.

The Nadav Shoham Robotraffic Competition was created to give students a hands-on experience in providing high-tech solutions to challenges. The main challenge of this competition is to build an autonomous robotic car model that can move according to the traffic rules, obey traffic lights and signs, signals, and keep a safe distance from other cars. The goals of the competition are to develop sensors and systems to be implemented in the industry to reduce the number of car accidents, expose students to the high tech multi-disciplinary area of robots and sensors and build team-work capabilities among them.
