Recently, Sushant Gupta Defsys has achieved another milestone in the design, development and production of 450mm Gimbal Payload Assembly (GPA) for the prestigious DRDO lab of the Government of India. GPA intends to be used with multiple sensors for the Airborne EOIR system to be deployed on the upcoming Multi-Mission Maritime Aircraft (MMMA) of the Indian Coast Guard.
GPA is designed to provide a Stabilized line of sight to perform the surveillance, reconnaissance, target detection and automatic target tracking from airborne platforms for Search, Rescue & Special Operations of the Indian Armed Forces. GPA is a rugged, single, compact and Light Weight airborne qualified LRU that includes Two-Axis Gyro Stabilization and Multi-Spectral Imaging Channels.
The first prototype GPA unit was displayed in the ‘Indian Pavilion’ during the recently concluded Aero India 2021 at Bengaluru. Being extraordinarily optimized in size, weight and power, the GPA provides an ideal platform for a variety of airborne application and therefore has drawn the attention of delegations of several foreign countries.
During Aero India 2021, The President of India along with Dr. Satheesh Reddy Secretary Def R&D & Chairman DRDO specially inspected the Defsys GPA unit. Dr. Reddy has explained the features of the GPA and its future applications in modern warfare to the President. With the experience, track-record, skills, capabilities and infrastructure that Defsys has built over the years, the company is well geared up to indigenously develop, and build advanced airborne system in the electro-optics domain.
