Mumbai-based Servify, which provides personalized after-sales service and management for smartphones, has announced that it is acquiring Bangalore-based Gadgets repair startup iService.
Blume Ventures is a common investor in both Servify and iService. In January 2017, iService raised its seed funding from Blume Ventures, which had recently participated in Servify's $15 million series B round of funding in August this year as well as in its past round in 2016.
Founded in 2013 by Ankit Chowdhary, and operating in only two cities - Bengaluru and New Delhi, iService provides gadget repairs and services for smartphones and laptops at homes and its four brick-and-mortar service centres.
Post acquisition, the service centres of iService will continue to run as an independent entity as it is not a part of the acquisition. The founders of iService - Ankit Chowdhary and Pratheek Kumar, along with its team members will join Servify soon.
Servify uses the self-learning, unified technology platform if iService to stitch together an otherwise unorganized after-sales experience ecosystem, helping brands deliver seamless customer experience. Servify also has its regional offices in the US, Canada, Europe and Dubai.
The visions of both the companies are in alignment and therefore, the founders decided to join hands so as to shape the future of users' device ownership experience, explained Blume Ventures Co-founder, Karthik Reddy.
