Mumbai-Sunnyvale based CleverTap, a mobile app analytics startup, has raised an undisclosed sum from Japan-based diversified consumer and business services provider Recruit Holdings Co., reported VCCircle.

An exact amount of funding raised has not been disclosed however it is claimed the funding is part of startup's $8 million funding round, raised some months ago, of which $6 million had already received through previous efforts.

Existing investors in the Clevertap, Sequoia Capital and Accel Partners, have also participated in the round.

The VCCircle further reported that the startup was looking to raise funds back in May 2017. It was looking to raise $20 million from new and existing investors as part of its Series B round.

The startup is essentially an intelligent mobile app analytics and marketing platform that allows its clients to know exactly how people are using their apps, so they can send engaging messaging campaigns at the right time, and track the progress every step of the way.

Founded in 2013 by Anand Jain, Sunil Thomas and Suresh Kondamudi, who are all Ex-Network18 executives, Clevertap has over 4,000 customers including leadding brands like Reliance Jio, Sony, Bookmyshow, Freecharge and McDonalds, among others.
