The Nasdaq Stock Market, which is the second-largest exchange in the world by market capitalization, behind only the New York Stock Exchange, has got its eyes set out for Indian technological companies. The 46-years old stock exchange is looking for companies creating innovative products and services in currently in trend tech spaces such as blockchain and machine-learning.

The American exchange, which first came to India for over eight years ago, has recently shifted its shifted its corporate office in Bengaluru, the city which is sometimes referred to as the "Silicon Valley of India" or "IT capital of India" because of its role as the nation's leading information technology (IT) exporter.

The technology stock-focussed exchange is looking to develop products that are designed especially for the needs and wants of the local market. It wishes to make this possible by joining hands with the some of finest Indian firms works in the fintech space.

The new Bengaluru office which will be currently home to more than 250 Nasdaq staff, majority of whom are a part of the Global Technology department. According to Nasdaq the new office will provide enough space for the growing staff and has capacity of accommodating over 500 employees.

Speaking to Economic Times, Bharat Patel, VP of corporate IT services and head of Nasdaq's new Bengaluru office said, “With the new office we plan to engage with Bengaluru's very impressive tech scene and workforce to work with Nasdaq in creating the next generation of products and services in areas of machine learning, blockchain, cloud services and cybersecurity."

Patel believes Nasdaq's strategy of having an increased local presence in the Indian subcontinent will “continue strengthening our relationship with existing and new customers in the region."

The Bengaluru office will work cheek to cheek with teams from Nasdaq's other tech hubs in NYC, Stockholm, Sydney, Denver, Boston and elsewhere that are full-blown into developing, testing, validating and finally launching new products across the company.

In addition to the Bengaluru office, Nasdaq also has one other corporate office in India, which is located in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu.
