Continuing on its drive to push for women entrepreneurship all around the globe, the Embassy of Israel in India officially launched the fifth edition of the Start TLV Competition in India today.
START TLV.India Competition is a platform to support women entrepreneurs in the country and helping them in accelerating the growth of their startups. In order to provide maximum benefits to all its participants, the Embassy of Israel has joined hands with the Indian government's Startup India programme, TiE-NCR, YES Bank & YES Global Institute and CNBC-TV18.
In order to apply for the competition, the startup should be a women-led startup (or at least one co-founder should be a female), and the women representing the startup should be a woman under 37 years of age. In addition to this, the startup should be a private enterprise in its early seed fund stage with a ‘prototype’ product. Furthermore, the startup should be associated with ICT: Web, Mobile, IOT, Technology Product targeted to the Global Market, and should be working towards improving global life-quality and be related to social entrepreneurship and/or urban innovation.
In order to apply for the competition, a startup is required to fill out a Google Form stating things like business summary, sector in which they're operating, issue/pain point that the product/solution will address, why their team is most suitable to address the issue, value proposition of their product/service, business model and financial model, fundraising history and investors etc. Along with all this, they all have to submit a 200 words piece on why their startup is making the world a better place and share the link of a short video on their startup.
The top five entries received will get invited to a special event in Delhi on July 24th, 2017 where they'll be required to present their startups to a panel of experts and a winner be will be decided.
Last day to apply to the competition is July 7th, 2017.
The winners get a unique chance to visit Israel on an all-expense-paid-5-day trip wherein they will be able to attend a startup’s ‘Boost Camp’ under the DLD Innovation Festival, Tel Aviv. For the uninitiated, DLD Tel Aviv Digital Conference is known as Israel's largest international Hi-tech gathering, featuring hundreds of startups, VC’s, angel investors and leading multinationals Boasting top technological talent, the highest venture capital investments per capita and multinational centers for industry leaders. The winners will get a chance there to interact with Israeli and international mentors, investors and peers. The winners will also get an access to Yes Bank Workshop on How to Make a Business Plan and a nationwide exposure on CNBC TV18's YoungTurks.
