Built "By Entrepreneurs and For Entrepreneurs", Indian Angel Network, India’s first and the world’s largest angel investor group today announced the launch of its operations in Israel. The decision is centred on Israel’s status as the popular “Startup hub”, and looked at its startup ecosystem side-by-side with leading ecosystems in the UK, United States, India and Singapore.
IAN is the only angel group in the world with operations across multiple cities and a mix of over 450 institutional and individual members, comprising the who’s who of successful entrepreneurs, spread around the globe. This gives IAN the unique and unparalleled ability to help its investee companies not only succeed locally but scale globally.
In February 2014, IAN launched their London office at a ceremony in Downing St, attended by British Prime Minster, David Cameron, and several other British Ministers, as well as over fifty members of the IAN network. This made IAN the world’s first angel group to establish operations outside of its home country.
On starting IAN’s operations in Israel, Padmaja Ruparel, Co founder & President of IAN said, “IAN now has operations in 3 of the 4 top startup hubs in the world – India, UK and Israel and seeks to connect the most innovative companies in the world to the largest / fastest growing markets and the most savvy investors globally. Our launch in Israel supports the vision of Hon PM Modi who is the champion of Startup India and seeks to build a closer relationship between the two countries.”
Saurabh Srivastava, co founder of IAN said, “IAN is delighted to launch in Israel in partnership with Anat Bernstein-Reich, a quintessential entrepreneur & Chairperson of Israel-India Chamber of Commerce as well as President of the Israel-India Friendship Association (IIFA).
Mrs. Anat Bernstein-Reich, Managing Director of A&G Partners, “I have a long association with India and several business interests. I have long believed that bringing together the entrepreneurial ecosystems of Israel & India would be of great benefit to both countries and indeed to the world. I have known IAN right from its inception, am in awe of its phenomenal success and am delighted to partner IAN in Israel.
