A Mysuru-based startup named Allinnov Research and Development Pvt. Ltd. has achieved a admirable feet of filling a whopping 25 patents in a span of just 18 months, with many more currently on their way.
The startup, which recently bagged the ‘National Intellectual Property Award-2017’ instituted by Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks (CGPDTM), is being deemed as first of its kind firm in India which is fully into offering patent filing, product research and development, and patent landscape analysis. Some of the previous years winners of the award includes prestigious names like Samsung and TCS, IIT-Mumbai and IIT-Kanpur.
The startup has earned a significant number of patents for its innovative, out-of-the-box products like stored water purification device, toothbrush along with toothpaste, self-charging phones, and many more.
Out of the 25 patents, 20 patents are in the names of people associated with Allinnov, while the rest carry the names of the people with whom the firm partnered with for assistance in patenting and product development.
Allinnov's 25 patents are in the names of 300 people. With more than 200 certified innovators onboard from various institutions and industries across the world, Allinnov is making a mark for itself in the world of patent.
According to Allinnov's website, it is the only company in the country which is currently giving its own patented products to entrepreneurs to manufacture and market by setting up their own industries. The startup creates the focus and brings the base of thinking in the language of technology and creativity through innovation to every learner of the country.
Gowthami S, Allinnov’s founder-cum-administrator started the firm when she and her friend Ramakrishna B, invented a helmet lock and set out to patent it. It is during this process, that she realised there is a lack of knowledge about patents and there are relatively very few patents in the name of Indians.
All of Allinnov’s 25 patented products are required by humans on a day-to-day basis. In fact, the helmet lock that Gowthami S and Ramakrishna B invented has been sold to Mahindra and Mahindra and is all set to be adopted in the Mahindra Centuro motorcycles.
Allinnov has offices in Tamil Nadu and Telangana too where it has employees who not only innovate themselves but also lends others' help to do the same. The firm conducts workshops in colleges to identify students as well as teachers who have distinct perspectives and harbour innovative ideas.
The startup also collaborates with teams of individuals and helps develop their ideas into patentable inventions by offering them technical and legal support.
According to the startup, their mission is to develop as many innovative products as possible that can help the masses and make this planet a better place to live.
Allinnov's aim is to eradicate the poor knowledge about patents in the country and its associated procedures, and stresses on the need to create awareness about its benefits.
