The AVISHKAR deep tech accelerator programme at CIE@IIITH incubator is inviting applications for its 4th batch of deep-tech startups.
The 6-month deep-tech accelerator programme is specially designed for early stage startups building products in the areas of Machine Learning, Image Processing, Robotics, AR/VR, NLP and other sub domains of AI.
Selected startups can win between 10-25 lakhs seed fund from the IIIT Seedfund Network. They will also gain strategic business coaching, market access and tech mentoring from IIIT-Hyderabad’s research labs.
Closing date for applications is May 5, 2017 and interested startups can apply here - http://bit.ly/2iYCzoS.
Ten deep tech startups are already part of the cohort. IIITHF is the largest technology business incubator in the country. Just 9 years since its inception, CIE@IIITH has already supported 150 + startups so far.
AVISHKAR is facilitated by CIE@IIITH, IIIT-Hyderabad and Co-creation Consulting. It brings together the deep-tech expertise of IIIT Research Labs and resources of the startup ecosystem of IIIT-Hyderabad. The startups go through a structured strategic business mentoring from Co-creation Consulting, Market Access and Investor Connections for the higher round of investments. A number of other ecosystem partners of IIIT-Hyderabad also contribute toward the programme with business development services and tools.
Prof. Vasudeva Varma, Dean R&D, IIIT-Hyderabad & CEO, IIIT Foundation says, “Given the challenging Indian start-up ecosystem, AVISHKAR’s base technology, mentorship and funding provides a massive edge. Using CIE@IIITH resources can translate into substantial benefits while scaling, and rapid internationalization of these ventures.”
Investment readiness of the cohort startups is a key deliverable for the 6 month programme. The founders deep dive on their hypotheses on their businesses during the workshops which helps them build a strong foundation upon which their startups can grow into strong mature companies. The technology mentoring opportunities from IIITH research labs help the founders build quality product/features within shorter timelines. Including the seed fund of Rs. 10-25 Lakhs in convertible debentures and free or discounted access to leading cloud services, F6S Alpha cards, Legal/CA, mobile payment gateway etc ensures the AVISHKAR startups get to build and go to market with greater results.
From the applications for the fourth batch, relevant startups would be shortlisted and invited for a pitch day at IIIT-Hyderabad campus in front of a committee of academics, investors and technologists during the second week of May. Beyond the prospect of getting selected for the programme, there will be a rare opportunity to validate their business and product from veterans in the ecosystem.
