OKWU Mobiles, a mobile phone startup that believes in engaging their client through a “smart way” of living, officially announced the appointment of Mr. Jason Stephen Morais as Director, Strategy & International Business and Mr. Swadeep Pillarisetti as Director, Sales & Marketing after unveiling its first smartphone named Pi in India last month.
Mr. Morais joined Okwu Mobiles as Director, Strategy & International Business, and has a strong experience of over 17 years in the area of Strategic Advisory, Management Consultancy, Financial Services Management, Business Development, and Investment Management. He was also the President and Board of Director at eFans Inc., USA, Founder & Managing Director at La Empresa Events & Sports Management and also serves on the Board of over 10 companies.
In the past, he has worked for large multinational corporate firms like British Telecom, Emirates Airlines, Vestas Wind Energy, and AC Nielsen. He was also a part of the core team, responsible for evaluating and bidding for global events and has worked closely with various global sports federations like FIFA, ICC, FIH, etc. Having a prior experience in Business Development and Strategy, Mr. Morais has a hands-on approach in formulating & implementing business strategies and developing new market segments. Developing locally relevant 360° brand campaigns by understanding global brand essence or building the brand from ground zero, is his forte. Deep understanding of business set-up, International Tax Advisory, Corporate Advisory, Domestic Compliance, Transfer Pricing, Global Business Process Outsourcing, etc. across different channels enables him to make proper inferences in regards to the market environment.
Mr. Pillarisetti, who has joined Okwu Mobiles as Director, Sales & Marketing, has strong experience of over 12 years in the area of Sales, Marketing & Consulting. He has led several projects involving Strategy Consulting, Process Optimization, Lead Generation, and Pre-Sales including Market Research and Data Driven Marketing, spanning industries as diverse as Education, Health Care and Technology. His expertise lies in the strategizing of sales & marketing initiatives and account management of channel sales. He has also worked in the Intellectual property space, helping companies build, manage and monetize their patent and trademark portfolio.
He has over 7 years of research experience spearheading research projects all across the United States and India. His research work has primarily been at universities such as University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Clemson University, Georgia Institute of Technology, etc, as well as at one of the foremost drug delivery companies in the world namely ALZA Corporation, a Johnson & Johnson enterprise.
