gear6.in, an online bike service and repairs platform has raised $500k from Ninestarter, an early-stage seed investment company that believes in the auto-tech services space.
"We feel gear6.in sufficiently disrupts the current Two Wheeler Sevice Industry by changing the customer services landscape", said a Ninestarter spokesman.
gear6.in, founded by Rakesh Vaddadi, Srikanth Nelakuditi, Kumud Kumar & Harrsha Chaittanya, has a 30-member team.
Conceptualized in November 2015, the startup began operations in January 2016 and clocked 1500 orders in the first three months.
gear6 hopes to bring the whole Two Wheeler Service sector online and simplify end-to-end bike maintenance which includes servicing, repairs, insurance and emergency services. The company has tie-ups with more than 100 authorized service centers with real-time tracking to ensure customers have the comfort of knowing the status of their bike, at any given time.
The raised funding will be used in marketing, expanding the customer base and bringing on board more service centers to increase reach in Bangalore.
Speaking on how gear6.in fits into the current scenario, the CEO Rakesh Vaddadi said, “The motorcycle maintenance landscape in the country is largely fragmented and un-organised, with a large disparity in rates, service quality and customer experience across garages and service centres. It's to address this problem that we founded gear6.in.”
