Usha raghav founded BarkLoot out of love and concern for her own pet dog, ATOM. As a pet parent, she used to shower her ATOM with all the amazing treats and toys that she could find but one day she realised that her dog wasn't that much fond of these toys and also there were instances when a particular toy would leave ATOM with bleeding from the gum. This is when Usha realised that just like her there would be several pet parents out there who want the best of things for their pet and won't mind paying for it. This is how BarkLoot came into existence.

Usha recalls -"My own pet dog was playing with a particular toy and suddenly he started bleeding from the gum.That’s when I realised that there might be many such pet parents like me who might be compromising with the products they provide to their dogs. Our pets love us so unconditionally and make us feel so special every day, it’s our responsibility too to provide them the best of everything. That’s when we thought we have to come up with something that will help the pet parents to provide the best of the products and at affordable cost."

Usha has 7 years of working as a Senior Software Engineer at Infosys, Mysore. According to Usha, While some believe in luck and destiny, she isn't one of them. She is a go-getter who believes in taking charge of her own life. That's why she didn't even think twice before starting BarkLoot.

Funding of BarkLoot was done from personal savings and from her parents. So far the startup has invested around 7Lakhs INR, in which around 2 Lakhs were spent on the products, 1 lakh on Website and social media advertising and remaining on boxes and other infrastructures.
