Anu Duggal’s F Cubed To Invest in Women-Led Startups

Female Founders Fund, or F Cubed (F3) is a seed capital fund, founded by an Indian-American named Anu Duggal, focus on investing in startups with exceptional female talent to help women entrepreneurs in early days of their entrepreneurial journey. F Cubed harnesses this new network effect by not only providing seed stage funding to female entrepreneurs, but also by opening doors at the most powerful companies in virtually every industry.

The New York-based fund, which Ms. Duggal launched about a year ago, invest in areas where women-led startups have incredible impact: e-commerce, media, web-enabled products and services, marketplaces and platforms. Moreover, last week F Cubed completed raising $5 million, or about Rs 30 crore to invest in more women-led startups.

Graduated from Vassar College, and holds an MBA from London Business School, Anu Duggal is an entrepreneur himself, she co-founded Exclusively.In, an Accel and Tiger-backed e-commerce site named as one of the 'Top 20 Fashion Destination sites' in the world. Anu was named one of the top angel investors in New York in 2012.

In November 2013, F Cubed confirmed its first seed recipient, Manicube, a startup that offers 15-minute manicures at work. Last month, F Cubed with two other investors invested $1.8M in another startup Minibar which provides on-demand delivery of wine. So far F Cubed has invested $60,000-$150,000 for 1 per cent-2 per cent stake in 11 women-led startups.

F Cubed co-invested with funds including Box Group, Homebrew, Harrison Metal, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Lowercase Capital, Greylock Partners, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Montage Ventures, SoftBank Capital and others.

Anu Duggal's F Cubed, meanwhile, plans to fund 15 more female-led companies.
