Infographics - How India’s Parliamentary Elections Work

Did you ever wondered how India's parliamentary election works, Carnegie Endowment has built an interesting infographic about the same. It's depicted in pictorial form that how people democratically elect state assemblies members and Lok Sabha members (lower house members) which they in turn elect a PM candidate.

It also sate some very useful facts of history of elections in India such as - No single party has won parliamentary majority since 1989 and India's first election was held in 1952.

In India there are 543 constituencies with 8070 candidates of 370 registered different political parties with 717 million registered voters out of about 1 billion population of India.
