1.7 Million iPhone-4 Sold in Just 3 days

Apple today has announced through its press release that it has sold over 1.7 million of its latest release -  iPhone 4 just after 3 days of its launch on June 24 i.e. time span of june 24 till June 26. Steve jobs, Apple's CEO said over this accomplishment that this is most successful product launch in Apple’s history. Earlier  Apple also claimed to sold 2 million iPads in just 59 days.

The new iPhone 4 features some of the most technological advanced features ever built in a phone such as - FaceTime, for video calling,  Retina display as the highest resolution display ever built into a phone, resulting in stunning text, images and video, a 5 mega pixel camera and 40 percent longer talk time.

At moment iPhone 4 is available in US, UK, France, Germany and Japan and will be available in an additional 18 countries by the end of July and these are - Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. However Indian subcontinent is not yet on the list.

No matter how buggy and balmy is Indian railways' portal IRCTC was in past year and 'best viewed in Internet Explorer 6' it still top the list of most visited portal in India in Travel category, people use to visit this official portal of Indian railways more often than any other travel portal in India.

Followed by IRCTC portal, MakeMyTrip is the second most visited travel site in India in terms of unique visitors and showed 39% growth in its unique visitors traffic from home/ office locations followed by Yatra.com as 3rd on the list as per Comscore media metrix report. As everything has its pros and cons so this web-app also has. I have already pointed out the pros. The directory it filters out as per your tags is not up to the mark as it doesn’t shows the most influential people, at least for now, obviously it may show up when the all the people will join it.

However, the idea behind the service is good and can do better in future, if implemented in a planned way.

Google, Microsoft & LinkedIn Unite for Open Web Sharing Protocol - OExchange

Clearspring along with Google,Microsoft and LinkedIn introduced an open web sharing protocol - OExchange to establish a common way for services to receive, discover and share content to social media sharing services and how sharing tools can read and set a user's sharing preferences.This open web sharing protocol actually established a interoperability into social web to offer links to sharing services and for sharing services to design their API endpoints.

Digg, Delicious, Stumbleupon, Postereous and every such social media service has a different integration scheme and providing access to all these services is difficult through one party tool or so using third party tools such as AddThis etc. OExchange solves this problem by defining an open protocol for third party sharing tools to discover and send content to these services.

Microsoft Clarifies: Windows Most Secured OS and better than Anyone

After much of hype about Microsoft Windows security issues that started over news that Google quitting Windows OS for its internal use over security concerns that leads to its Chinese hack earlier, Microsoft through its Windows Blog clarifies that Windows is indeed a secured OS and that's too more secured than any OS in the world and even better than Google Apps in security and privacy concerns.

Brandon LeBlanc from Windows Team Blog point out few interesting points, as per him actual facts doesn't go with assertion that were propagated as news overnight by media such as Financial Times which states that Windows is vulnerable to attacks on the contrary he affirms that Windows has surpassed all others when it comes to security and privacy concerns.

Pakistan got its own 1st Blogging Awards & New Media Unconference

India's very own neighbor country Pakistan witnessed its First Blogging Awards & New media Unconference on Friday May 28th at Karachi, the award ceremony is backed by Google Pakistan and CIO Pakistan along with other sponsors such as Nokia, Dell, Cannon etc. The ceremony was lavishing, big and red carpeted with more than 300 bloggers and corporates honored in Karachi to recognize and encourage blogging as "New Media" and "Citizen Journalism" rising in Pakistan.

The awards are distributed among winners out of a total of 41 blogs in different categories such as celebrity, fashion, gossips, politics, humor, current affairs and technology.

Neighboring developing countries should take lesson from Pakistan where blogging, new media, citizen journalism is not just limited to newspaper columns or talk shows but also being recognized, appreciated and honored with awards as ceremonies and unconferencing events and thats too with lavishing format which not only show countries appreciation towards the home-grown journalism but also flaunt that how important they are to the country they are blogging for.

Apple: 2 Million iPad Sold in Less than 60 Days

Apple as usual has started flaunting the sale graph of its latest innovation iPad, since iPad's introduction in January this year started and than started shipping the iPad from 3rd April onwards in selected countries - Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK.

Apple iPad had already passed the one millionth mark just 28 days after its launch i.e. 3rd April'10.The iPad fever will be more viral as iPad will be available in nine more countries in July and additional countries later this year.

Lets see some of the record stats that iPad has made surpassing even Apple's earlier invention iPhone.

Introducing 3D PC - A New Category PC by Nvidia

3D technology is really creating a lot buzz today be it movies like Avataar or our own Indian 3D movie Chota Chetan back in 1995 but it's some what limited to only movies. Now its time for real implementation in every sphere which has just begun as NVIDIA, a computer graphics technology company who is known to introduce to the world  GPU processors  has partnered with Microsoft, Dell, Toshiba, Alienware, Asus and many more brands to brings 3D technology in every sphere of entertainment life be it visual entertainment, Blu-ray 3D movies, PC games,  photos and even live 3D broadcasts.

Nvidia will be bringing the 3D PCs out of the box in desktop, notebook range to the consumers, the prices of which will start at around $1,500 which is about half of the price of 3D TV in market. As per Nvidia - "In 3D mode, each eye receives the full resolution of the display for the highest possible image quality for text and objects".

At Computex 2010 held at Taiwan, Jerry Shen, CEO of ASUS, demonstrated some ready-to-go 3D PCs in desktop, notebook and all-in-one varieties

Microsoft also announced that Silverlight, a web content development platform now supports streaming 3D content over the web to NVIDIA 3D Vision-equipped PCs. NVIDIA and Microsoft demonstrated the world’s first high definition 3D music video 'We Are The World' in 3D streamed over the internet.

NVIDIA's  game developers worked on more than 425 PC games to work with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision technology. Sony and Fujifilm will be bringing 3D digital cameras to market where consumers can take 3D photos and view as 3D on their 3D PC. A 3D PC can view the Web in 3D including live streaming of 3D video, watch Blu-ray 3D movies and also Cyberlink will be releasing a version of their software player that will support playback of Blu-ray movies in 3D.

As per Nvidia, a 3D PC must have, by definition, the following minimum requirements:

• A pair of 3D active-shutter glasses.


• A 120Hz 3D-capable display which can be a desktop LCD monitor, a 3D projector, a 3D TV, or a laptop with an integrated 3D-capable LCD.


• A discrete GPU such as the latest GeForce GPU’s from NVIDIA that are designed to deliver HD content to a 3D display.
