Google Chrome Comes Out of Beta for Mac, Linux and Fastest Version or Windows

Google Chrome today introduced stable (out of beta) release of Chrome browser for Mac and Linux and as announced on official blog its the fastest Chrome version yet along with most significant speed improvements.

The new Chrome stable version also host few new features as well along with inclusion of HTML 5 features and new bookmark manager build with HTML 5.

The new features includes synchronization of your bookmarks and browser preferences across multiple computers including themes, homepage and startup settings, web content settings, preferred languages, and even page-zoom settings.

HTML 5 among the new features Chrome provides support for features such as Geolocation APIs, App Cache, web sockets, and file drag-and-drop. To test the HTML 5 features in Chrome, one may browse websites built with HTML5 such as scribd.com, Gmail's dragging and dropping attachments and enabling the geolocation functionality in Google Maps.

The incorporation of HTML 5 features are gradually being added to all modern browsers such as Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome and now Google Chrome being the one that has added few more. IE however has been started with IE 8 version onwards with minimal features though, however there is strong commitment from Microsoft for strong support if CSS3/ HTML5 in its IE 9 version.

Google Chrome also experimenting with Flash Player integration in the browser which is yet not included by default with this stable version however it is expected to be enabled with full release of Flash Player ver. 10.1 soon in next version onwards.

Google Chrome team concluded that in short span of time i.e. since its first beta release back in September 2008 Chrome has improved by 213 percent and 305 percent in Javascript performance by the V8 and SunSpider benchmarks. BlacMail makes Ordinary Phones Smarter for Emails (without GPRS)

BlacMail is a new push email mobile application launched by Bangalore based mobile applications startup Fifth C , the mobile app is a push email mobile application enables low-end ordinary phones to send and receive mails and that's too without having GPRS as one would normally need to get connected with internet. The app provides low-end mobile users to have email send-receive feature similar to that of smart phones or PDAs such as BlackBerry or Nokia E63.

BlacMail allows users to access their mails through any GSM network on their cell phones anywhere in India be it Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo or even your company/ corporate emails.



Difference that this mobile app making is - Unlike to other 'pull email' based applications available in the market, BlacMail is based over 'push email' application that pushes mails to the user's phone as soon as they land in the user's email inbox. Therefore, BlacMail only alerts your phone and you when an unread email from your internet account is pushed to it. While other services of the similar kind pull an email to your phone by frequently checking your internet mail accounts for unread mails unnecessarily draining your phone battery life.

Available for free trial download BlacMail is at present available only in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad and also at all UniverCell outlets. However the company is negotiating with a top operator in India for release of BlacMail across India soon.

The paid version of this mobile email app is subcription service based on credit system that needs to be purchased for mobile service providers (UniverCell outlet as of now).

Coming to the features the on demand option allows users to get mails only when they want it, and the mail download size option enables them to control the size of mails, thereby saving the user’s credits. Another feature that empowers users to control their credits is the white-list option. It white-lists domains,sites or email addresses that user wants to receive mails from, and filters out all other unwanted domains, thus reducing spam and keeping the user’s inbox clean.

Sculptris is a nice 'Free' Nifty tool for 3-D modeling and sculpturing over the computer. Google Search Now More Secured Search with SSL (https)

Google from today onwards will provide more secured search with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption that is now once can have more secure connection if they go to Google via URL - https://www.google.com.

What it means to you ?

With 'https://' before www.google.com you have more secured and encrypted connection with Google servers and have more security of what you search, search terms and search activity being misused or intercepted by any one including your ISP or any third party on your network. The service includes a modified logo to help indicate that you’re searching using SSL.

Search Experience

As the new SSL secured Google search is still in Beta stage, one might have different search experience when browsing with SSL secured Google search, that includes - slightly slower lower search than the regular one, modified Google logo, Google Image search and Google Maps not supported with SSL as yet so you wont see the same in "left panel/sidebar" (as per the new Google design).

This is one major appreciated step of Google towards it main product i.e. Google Search to provide its users more online privacy and security to billions of searchers around the world. Meet the revamped Wikipedia

Wikipedia, the World’s most renowned online encyclopedia has revamped its navigation, search and editing features in order to perk up the user understanding. The refurbishment of Wikipedia was completed on May 13^th 2010 after a hard-core testing by a beta group of 635,000 people.





The Wikipedia search now includes the search suggestions, the ideology of which, is certainly taken after seeing the Google`s success on it.  Moreover, the search bar can now be seen on the top right corner of the page.

With the improved editing tool bar, the article editors of the Wikipedia will definitely be at much ease. Wikipedia has also come up with two new wizards namely table and link wizards. Table wizards are there to make creating tables easier and link wizard allows its users to link to other pages on Wikipedia.

Wikipedia has also undergone some natty little changes. Its globe logo has been redesigned in three dimensions, featuring letters of more than 250 languages from all over the world.

Till now there has been a mixed response by the users regarding the Wikipedia`s new look. Some like it and some want the previous one. To solve this problem, Wikipedia has followed the Google`s way. Just like Google`s take it or leave it position with its new interface, it allows users to go back to classic MonoBook interface by clicking on the ‘take me back ‘link top of the page.

You might heard about Google Squared technology that we described in 10 Unknown Google Search, now its not so uncommon anymore as Google has brought this 'structured from unstructured data' technology into regular web search also.

Lest say you need to know who is prime minister of india or say sachin tendulkar's birthday Google regular search will now show accurate answers right at the top of your results, sourced from across the web using its own Squared technology.

Noticeably it takes a lot of computing power to dig that search out of unstructured, fragmented and redundant information as data spilled all across the web.

Google Squared which is still in labs has been an early attempt from Google to find and extract structured data from unstructured data or say information overloaded all across the web.

For example - when you search on Google, you’ll see a new section at the bottom of the left-hand panel which contains related search terms.
